soon my current contract is up, and that’s bittersweet. cause while we all like money, and more is better than less, i’ll have some free time till the next gig to work on black and blue. i have various things i’ve been meaning to get to, and i’m looking forward to a little time off to get ahead. maybe some promo, maybe compiling for sale… with any luck i’ll take full advantage of my down time, and have lots to show you all in the upcoming weeks.

onto my next thoughts for worthwhile movies to watch. i just popped this one on for the first time in ages, and it holds up. let’s call it a late tip of the hat to the recent scotus ruling on gay marriage.

'the crying game (1992)'' ‘the crying game (1992)’

why have i not been adding pictures until now?

is it noir? maybe, maybe not. but it has alot of the same hallmarks. is it progressive? maybe a bit for the time, but i have a feeling that in time it’ll be the amos and andy of the lgbt community. which is too bad, because past the initial surprise twist, there’s a pretty decent story about a man who’s mistakes haunt him as he tries to start over, and everyone ends up worse off than when they started. there’s a few of those hallmarks i mentioned.

if you don’t know what i mean about surprise twists, well, there’s a twist with a surprise. just watch it.
