quid pro quo, fo sho
Back when i didn’t think I could hit a fairly modest Patreon goal, i set the reward at a ‘comic short’ for all patreons (shout out to the hawt people, you know who you are). It was planned as a sort of fun little exclusive for my supporters in my snarky gut-punch style. I found myself some time, and planned something out. Now that I have it more or less ready to draw out, I’m a little excited to start!
The results are… amusing. So far. But it’ll be a lot of extra work on top of producing a weekly comic page. Which I’ll remind you all, I’ve not missed a single week yet! it’s a point of pride for me, seeing as how many other people have promised more, and delivered less. Honestly, with as hard as it is to build a readership, I don’t know how anyone acts like that…. I digress…
So, if you were ever thinking about jumping on board my Patreon, now would be an excellent time to do it. Although, to be honest, it’s going to be a lot of extra work, and time…. So, you know what? Don’t bother. I mean, if I were to cross the milestone threshold, I will….. if i have to, and knowing me, I’ll do whatever i can to make it excellent, and amusing, but who needs it? Ok, i’ve talked myself out of it. Forget it. Stay away from my PATREON. which is here. and here. and here. And don’t sign on as patrons. I just don’t need the hassle. And you don’t want to be part of the treasured few who I’ve decided to save if i ever get magic powers. I mean, it’s unlikely, but…..
Now that I’ve planted the seed, let’s see how many of you were the type to touch hot stoves. But, if you want to see this, and other content that I am always adding to, sign up as a patron. It would mean a lot, and we’re getting closer. I’d also like to do something to give back to all the people who are swell enough to check updates on the day. I appreciate being there to make mondays a little better.
So, until this short happens, gives me more time to play Gloomhaven. Anyone else see this game? I’m a board game freak, and I’m obsessed. Check it out.
So, a guy who draws my favourite not-entirely-comic comic also plays my favourite non-euro board game … that’s what living in a bubble feels like! :)
haha, who, me? yeah, i’m obsessed. and also, glad to me your not-entirely-comic comic!
i got a weekly game going right now, and we’re all super into it. it’s such a surprising game! it keeps us guessing, that’s for sure.
I may be gone all night, but I’ll always be home by breakfast!
dirty dawg! well fine, when you’re done with your cheap art sluts, i’ll still be here, waiting, with flapjacks and maple syrup. cause, you know, canada.
Ahh, reverse psychology. *Taps temple* That’s using the old noodle! And yes, you are the only artist I know who doesn’t have the affinity for procrastination that makes me want to shake people like a nanny possessed. One of the comics I am reading just came off a two week hiatus and now decided they need to take off for the holiday weekend. Another went on break in June of last year and just…never came back? You get my Patreon money because of your kickass art posts, but also because you don’t wreak havoc with my abandonment issues.
yeah, i mean, there’s days i want to skip it, so i plan ahead, and get ahead. there’s even days where i want to just pack it all in, but it passes. and i know me, i know how i feel when i give up, or let a lazy day turn into letting my responsibilities slide. it’s a slippery slope, so i don’t start.
the thing i don’t get, and i don’t want to start a pity party, but i’ve seen some really successful artists, with big followings who have hundreds of patrons, and they’ll just treat their fans like they don’t care about them. i have a small (but dedicated readership) and it would physically pain me to just stop one day, and leave people in a lurch.
i’ll forgive you reading some other artist’s comic. cheat all you want, so long as you all come back to me! i’m such a doormat.
