Black and Blue

Finished? Over? Dead? I’m not sure which adjective suits best. It’s been a 14 year project/journey, and it’s come to an end. i’m sure i’ll have more feelings about it in the future, but for now, it’s a bittersweet chapter that it’s come to a close.

I think i told the story i wanted to tell, and some things came out the way i intended, others not as much, but i’m glad i took the chance and put in the effort rather than never try.

So, what does the future bring now? i don’t know. I don’t intend to start a new project any time soon, though i have a ton of ideas, i have to pivot to spending my time an energy on more ‘beasic survival’ pursuits. it’s been a rough couple years in the VFX industry, work has been sparse, and i’ll need to focus on that.

As it happens, my hosting just billed me. it’s a hefty chunk, but that’ll keep the comic online for another year. after that, i’ll let it lapse, and….. internet lore? i don’t know. i’ve had people express interest in me printing it, but the effort to worthwhile ratio just doesn’t math. i’ve done a few printed things before. trust me, it’s a headache. maybe i’ll put it online in a dropbox that people can download for kicks.

One thing i am currently working on, if you’d like to follow my somewhat related art career, is my sketch cards. a friend recommended i check it out, and i’ve been growing a small following of people who buy original pen and ink cards on whatnot, and watch me draw.

again, thank you so much for supporting my work, the comic, and the story i wanted to tell. i have been amazed since the beginning that so many people came out and parted with their hard earned money to see me work on this comic, and it means a lot to me that so many of you stuck with it. and thank you too, to those who wanted to, but couldn’t for one reason or another. times have been tough, and i appreciate you all.
