I’ve only ever heard it to be “See you in the funny papers.” meaning “comics”. In papers. But I’ll take webcomics… 😂

Another grammar issue: I know they bore you, but leaving that “coming with?” dangling like that makes me cringe. Give it a subject, as in “Are you coming with me?” It may be a common thing anymore, but those are ignorant folk, which you don’t strike me as one. (I think I’ve tracked it back to the tv show Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It’s a Jos Whedon thing.)

Yes, have all your character speech be grammatically correct. Why have them speak how people actually speak?

Have only heard this on low end tv shows.. not by hearing it spoken irl.

But this is exactly how these things perpetuate.

Carry on. (I guess this is what happens when I read the comments. Don’t think I’ll do THAT anymore.l

Not so much “the funnies.” What would you call this style of comic? Is “noiries” a thing?

haha, i don’t think so. i think the funnies was just a universal thing back in the day. not the reason you bought a newspaper, but a mild larf once a day. providing everyone read the same paper, it was a joke everyone was in on, but too pointless to talk about. noir…. not as universal. i think this is true of comics now, too. we have well loved humour comics, they make the rounds, and everyone knows them, and then we have the serials…. more time and investment in story, and far less universal appeal. maybe black and blue is the first ‘noiry’. haha
