so i decided to commemorate my 200th page with something a little fun…. ok, no, it was just a remarkable coincidence, but i’d like to pretend i was that organized.  enjoy the return of everyone’s favourite lobster based private investigator… on this site. had to dial that back for fear of contradiction. these days, it’s all been done. who knows? maybe even done better. originality is dead, yadda yadda, you’ve heard this rant before. my next project is completely new though. i have a deal int he works for a comic book about a crab who’s an insurance claim investigator. completely new intellectual property.

bb4until then, the new issue of Black and Blue is available here at comixology! go ahead, buy what you already get for free! but now, with the added bonus of the irritatingly convoluted nonsense which is the comixology website! honestly, i’m torn. i hate what amazon did to that site, but, i do like ordering backscratchers by the gross and having them arrive before i wake up.

the amusing thing is, amazon cut their in app purchases, because they though apple taking 35% (i think) of every order made on the apple store was far too much. but, taking 50% of the profits from the creators is fine. but if that sounded super bitchy and jaded, i promise you, i actually do find it amusing. i bet the big comic publishers don’t think so. ahh… it’s good to be indie.

hey, who wants to reminisce, and talk about….

asdA Scanner Darkly (2006)

every once in a while, i throw this movie on in the background, but when you watch it, you have to give it up for the huge chance in style they took.

the plot is, phillip k dick took alot of drugs, and one day, when he stood up, a book fell out of his butt. i’m not actually sure of his creative process, but that sounds plausible. to tell you the truth, i haven’t read it, so i can’t tell you how close the movie is to the source material. but i think drug trip movies are notoriously hard to adapt. ‘fear and loathing in las vegas’ was almost line for line lifted and recited, whereas ‘naked lunch’ had about as much to do with the novel as sitting in your birthday suit and eating a grilled cheese.

but i digress. which should put one in the mood to watch a scanner darkly! the style is fun, robert downey jr really explored his acting range playing a strung out junky, and winona ryder showed up.
