drawSo, the response to my first ever lottery promotion thing didn’t go as gangbusters as i would have liked, but i did get some interest from some very earnest readers, so i’m happy to follow through with my end.

as you can see, there’s the hat, and there’s names in the hat. trust me. or don’t. whatever. and there, in my smooth pink claw, the name of the winner. congrats molotov!

posting a link won someone a shirt. i bet those of you who opted out are so filled with remorse and jealousy, it’s all you can do not to cry. or not. it’s just a shirt.

there’s a movie i saw recently, that i didn’t expect anything from, but was very much surprised how retro/cute it was. check out

turbo kid‘Turbo Kid (2015)’

how to describe this movie…. mad max meets megaman the nintendo game. there. nailed it. oh, and there’s bmx bikes. it’s the kind of movie i would have came up with if people had taken me seriously when i was 10.

and i mean that seriously. not just any 10 year old, but a kid from the 80s. the camp and humour are all aimed at a demographic that doesn’t exist anymore. which makes you wonder, how successful can it be? kinda reminds me of when i heard dave chapelle talk about ‘half baked’, and where was his think he was going making a kids movie about weed. it may be a concept without a market. then again, scooby do was a thing, so….

so, check out Turbo Kid. there’s a gnome on a stick, a whacked out AI, and micheal ironside. if you’re not sold yet, you just hate fun. why do you hate fun?
